All these little things seem to matter so much that they confuse me. This song might lose me! It makes me weep. Just writing about it makes me emotional. Michalka tells a story not just with her words, but the tone and levels of confidence of her voice, and the lesson is learned by harmonizing with the master herself. And because Steven has let his problems pile up, the rest of his ghosts flood in.
Steven Universe Review – “Mindful Education” (Season 4, Episode 4) – The Review Nebula
Plot: After years of training as separate entities or as a team, Steven and Connie now face another step in training. Turns out, she screwed up royally by attacking a fellow schoolmate, and is being overwhelmed by the incident. Garnet, overhearing this vent, decides to teach Steven and Connie the powers of mindfulness therapy. As far as I can see, there are three possible paths, each imperfect and having some level of personal impact, but still worth analyzing. In part, it was the episode that cemented my descent into fandom. I will defend the episode to the death, I personally consider it peerless, but this leaves a major hole to contend for other episodes from other fans. And those arguments are more than valid.

Thankfully, Garnet steps in to help Connie and Steven, sort of work out their problems and reach a more harmonious fusion. Garnet is calm and in control here, laying out another part of her fusion philosophy—fusion is a representation of the bond between two people or Gems , and when one of the participants is out of sync, both parties need to honestly acknowledge the problem.
